Personal Note from Regina M. Franco, Esq., Founder and Principal

Thank you for considering Python Legal, PC and I am delighted to take this moment to introduce myself to you. I personally work with each client and see every case with new eyes. As we work together, I will learn about the most intimate details of your life and in an effort to promote a safe space in which you can confide in me with confidence that there is no judgment, I believe it is important that you have the opportunity to know a bit about me.

I believe that the success of family law matters is deeply rooted in the strength of the attorney-client relationship. In addition to vetting an attorney’s professional experience, like with any other relationship you form, there must be chemistry between the attorney and client. Without chemistry, it is impossible to develop a foundation of trust which will in turn impede the fluid exchange of information and ideas so that the best strategy can be developed to accomplish your goals. As humans, shared experiences and common interests provide an opportunity for meaningful connection and it is through this connection that a strong foundation of trust can develop between the attorney and client.

After years of practicing in Metro-Detroit as a solo practitioner, I moved to San Francisco to push myself personally and professionally as not only did I have to create a new life, I had to learn California law. I took a significant risk by moving to San Francisco which I will never regret as I have the privilege of practicing law amongst the best in this profession and in the most dynamic and progressive jurisdiction in the country.

I began my career in California as an associate at a family law boutique firm, an experience for which I am grateful. I successfully represented clients in complex matters including but not limited to high asset divorces, acrimonious custody disputes including international relocation matters, child and spousal support enforcement and modification, and post-judgment matters. In addition to formally representing clients, I’ve served as a consultant, limited scope representation, to self-represented litigants who obtained favorable results both in Court and mediation, as well as for clients who are in the beginning stages of exploring options to resolve their issues and need assistance with understanding the law. After several years as an associate, I decided to pursue solo practice which was consistent with my entrepreneurial spirit and thirst for challenge.

There is a tremendous amount of uncertainty that is inherent with family law matters. Family law cases unfold organically; there is no way to predict the conduct of the other side, your life will continue to move forward with all of its twists and turns, and we have no control over the Court’s schedule. That being said, a certain degree of surrender to this process is necessary which in and of itself is frightening, but further underscores the importance of a strong attorney-client relationship. However what remains within our circle of control is your integrity by how we present your case. By the time attorneys are involved, emotional wounds are deep and there is simply no need to continue hurting each other. Litigating on “principal” results in increased acrimony, fees, and stress; not forgetting to mention unnecessarily delaying progress of your case. Over the course of my career, by setting emotions aside and applying facts to the law, favorable results were obtained while preserving the emotional health of my clients.
